Conditions were right for nostalgia and indulgence: the last race of the Devens season, every runner was a CMS runner (for the first time this season), and some of those accumulated race fees went to buy lots 'o PIZZA for everyone present.

Frequently Fast Adam Parslow was first across the finish line, pushed by Kevin McCusker 1 second later, earning them first open and first master, respectively.

There was glory at the end of the race as well, as grampy aka Ray Boutotte the Elder paced his grandson Jessie Spinelli, and Jessie's brother Travis Spinelli picked up a first Junior win.

In the middle, many fast times as well, including a course PR for our first female and first master, Sau-Mei Leung of Clinton.

Some of the regulars will continue on to the Worcester weekly Saturday morning 5K series, starting September 30. But for others, such as your intrepid reporter, this was our fond adieu to the fine runners of the 5K series for a while. See you around the roads!
