We had more first-timers who had never run on our course than we've had all season. Welcome! And many Ayerites, some of whom ran a mile, and a few who ran the full 3.1.

It was another day where the supposedly strongest 'open' category, 20-39, was outshone by everyone else. Only one open runner in the top 10, the V. fast T. Michael Thornton. T-Mike also had the joy of seeing his two 6-year old sons complete the course, ably assisted by Lynn Thornton.

We started the race by singing happy birthday to Peter Wojtas, who returned the favor by zipping through the course in 18:61 (aka 19:01, but hey, it's his birthday..), winning first senior, first New Hampshirite, and first runner with a 'P', 'W', 'J' or 'S' in his name.
