Tonight at the American Legion in West Boylston we held our annual Members Race where 81 runners and 20 some odd volunteers and club members joined in afterwards for a post run pasta dinner.

Greg Ward led all runners, knocking 11 seconds off the course PR, previously set by Greg last December at the Ric Buxton Memorial Race. Andrew Rossi was first Junior coming across in 6th overall. Joe (Wooster) Alfano squeaked under the 19 minute mark coming in as first Master and if I'm not mistaken, that would be a 5k PR for Joe! Barbara McManus, once again, led all women and finished 8th overall. Charlie Salmond, First Male Senior, continues to run well as he finished in 11th while Kristin Rossi completed the Rossi Double in the Junior category. Other category winners were Bob Girouard - First Male Veteran, Sau-Mei Leung - First Female Master, Darlene Hoover - First Female Senior, and Laura Beckwith - First Female Veteran.

During the meal, a raffle was held for a Gift Certificate to the Nantasket Beach Hotel where all CMS Members in attendance were eligible. Bill Haskell came up from the Red Sox game downstairs to prove he was still in attendance and took home the top prize. We still have 7 more certificates to award at the end of the 2006 52 Week Series that will be given in the following categories:

• Most Improved Male and Female with a minimum of 5 times from the Series
• Male and Female who participates the most in the 52 week Series, volunteers too!
• A random draw for all Male and Female weekly winners.
• Also at the end of the year, we will choose one Volunteer of the Year to receive the final Nantasket Beach Hotel Certificate

As we're only half way through the series, everyone still has plenty of opportunities to get in on these prizes!
