A pleasant and leisurely day for a 5K run. The only hindrance was a strong breeze that blew throughout the race, but fortunately it was all tailwind at the start-finish area. Andres Salmeron was the overall winner of the race and the first CMS finisher, with a time of 19:02. Graduate school kiddie Dan Navaroli finished in second place (19:36), and Peter Wojtas also broke the twenty-minute mark (19:55). The winner of the ladies race was Lamia Stanton (24:53). I think that Lamia submitted her CMS membership just a couple of minutes after completing the race -- along with her hubby Russ Stanton -- so perhaps she also counts as being the first CMS female? (A dilemma for you philosophers in the audience!) In any event, Alissa Zbikowski was the first female who had CMS written on her tag at race-time. Congratulations to both ladies! |
