I'm not sure about the details, but one of the competitors at this week's race managed to run our loop course part clockwise, part counterclockwise(!).

The runner began the first part of the course in the same clockwise direction as the rest of the runners. The runner then missed one of the small sidestreets where the course takes a turn. But a few blocks later the runner then discovered this sidestreet -- actually the opposite end of it -- and took a turn onto it heading in the reverse direction.

Shortly after running this portion of the course counterclockwise, Barbara and Joanne spotted the errant runner and pointed out the correct path.

... We haven't lost a runner yet!

Postscript: Thank you to CMS president Kevin Fallon, who carefully repainted the directional markings along our 5K course shortly after today's race.
