James Sullivan of Sterling, on his summer break from Trinity College, decided to throw his hat in the ring on this fairly hot and humid night. James took to the blacktop and let his happy feet do the talking by recording a CMS/OHAC course record for 2004 of 16:06. Do we dare to think what James could've done if the temps were down 30 or 40 degrees? Bob Johnson decided to sail the sea of blue this week and broke up the eight men running in the 20-39 division. Bob was first in the masters category with a time of 19:12. Ellen MacGilvray of Hudson was the first female as well as the first female master to finish, and she did it with a most respectable time of 20:40. There were no female juniors or female veterans out on the course this week but Catherine Pfau of Bolton won the one other female trophy that was up for grabs, the female senior division, by logging in a time of 38:43. Bob Girouard of Fitchburg was the first senior across the finish line,
doing a 20:46 on this muggy night. Back by popular demand for yet another
week of defending his veterans title was Peter Orni of Ashburnham. Like a
knife through butter, Peter did so with ease by cruising through the finish line cones in 21:46. |

A final highlight of the night which earned an honorable mention was Bill Sicard's running shoes. Let's just say we may be able to keep the race at 6:30 right through October if Bill promises to be at the remainder of the races to light the way. No matter what the make, model or color shoe Bill laces up, he runs a great race every week. |
