CMS'ers Andy McCarron and Brad Fors duked it out for the title this week with Andy squeaking it out by a couple of seconds. Both held a torrid pace with Andy scorching in in a time of 16:54 and Brad in a time of 16:56.

First junior honors went to Jeff Hayes, a student at Stonehill College and a resident of Shrewsbury. Jeff ran an 18:17 race, and longtime CMS'er Kevin McCusker of Ashby fared quite well with a time of 18:35, good enough for first in the Master's division.

Charlie Salmond grabbed first senior honors by charging in in a time of 19:53. Again, the unstoppable Peter Orni of Ashburnham was the first veteran to cross the line with a time of 21:23.

On the women's side of things Deb Willard-Parker was first in by recording a time of 21:35. Darlene Murray was the first CMS woman across the finish line in a time of 22:16.

Heather Rideout of Townsend took the first junior female title by running the 5k distance in a time 22:29. Pat Wojtas of Chelmsford took the prize for first female senior in a time of 32:20.

Congratulations go out this week to CMS'ers Mike & Lynn Thornton of Harvard on the birth of their son Malcolm Brooks Thornton. Also congrats to Malcolm's very proud grandfather David King who was seen grinning from ear-to-ear at this week's race as he broke the good news.
