CMS'er Brad Fors laced up the running shoes and came on down to Orchard Hills to try his luck at the weekly 5k series. I'd say Brad's luck ain't so bad. Brad took the Wednesday night race like a tsunami rolling over the course in a wicked 17:26, a full minute and 40 seconds ahead of the next closest runner.

And just as Brad's undertow was tapering off, a tidal wave by the name of Bob Johnson swept in in a time of 19:07, good for not only the silver medal but also tops in the masters division.

After the finish line volunteers toweled off from Brad and Bob's splash across the finish line, Dan Navaroli made some serious whitecaps by grabbing the bronze in 20:08. Follow-up wave Bob Girouard soaked the volunteers from his wake as he cruised in 11 seconds behind Dan to snap up 1st senior honors.

Peter Orni appears to be an unrelenting typhoon every week as he continues his streak of stealing the veterans trophy for ALL, yes I said ALL, seven weeks of the OHAC summer series. Now that's what I call making a splash, Peter!

1st female to drench the crowds was Claire Szczerbinski from Hudson in a time of 21:49. [Photographed by Jim Daley.] First in the female senior division and also first female CMS'er was Diane Mitchell of Fitchburg who splashed onlookers in a time of 28:11. To round out the awards, newcomer Erica Bergland from the Ayer track team flooded the finish line and grabbed the 1st junior trophy.

Congrats to Jenn & Sean Gormley on the birth of a brand spankin' new CMS marathoner. Alexandra Catherine was born on May 24th at 3:56 a.m. and at the starting gun she weighed in at 6 lbs., 13 ozs., a perfect weight for the 26.2.

Remember, Wednesday, June 23rd is the ANNUAL CMS SHINDIG so bring your best pair of running shoes, your sharpened No. 2 board of directors voting pencil, and of course your feedbag for some free vittles.
