For early May it was unusually hot and humid. No matter for Andres Salmeron from Westminster who dismissed the heat and broke the tape at 18:45. Seconds behind him was 1st senior, Charlie Salmond of Fitchburg; coming in third was another long time CMS'er Bob Girouard of Fitchburg; in fourth was 1st master, Bill Sicard of West Fitchburg; and rounding out the men's category was 1st veteran, Peter Orni of Ashburnham.

First female honors went to Deb Willard-Parker in a time of 21:53, second female across the finish line in a time of 23:29 was Darlene Murray of Sterling, and third female honors went to Evelyn Dolan of Bolton.

Grabbing part of the spotlight was CMS'er Ray Boutotte who shared his recent Florida race experience. The name of the 5k race he ran was the Lake Como "Dare To Go Bare" race. Most of the runners ran with nothing more on than a smile and running shoes. If the BAA does a bit of research on the Lake Como race, could it be possible that there will be a new "Clothing Optional" division at the 2005 Boston Marathon?

On a final note, now that race registration has been moved outside, Gizmo is back and he will be available for pre race and post race massages (as long as he is the recipient).
