The runners at this evening's race were treated to ideal running weather -- pleasantly cool temperatures and overcast skies -- quite unlike the heatwave that would visit Hopkinton and Boston the following Monday.... Ah, well. If you can't change the weather, at least you can complain about it! Charlie Salmond (18:47) was the top CMS finisher at this week's 5K. He was also the top member of Orchard Hills Athletic Club, and tops in the 50-59 age group. Mike Auger earned a new personal-best time (20:03) as he took first in the masters division; his namesakes Mike Sikorski and Michael Weinberg finished close behind. The ladies race went to Darlene Murray (22:40), who beat Jan Beckwith with 9 seconds to spare. |
