Each year when winter finally changes to summer, every aspect of the 52-Week Series changes: its location (from Worcester to Lancaster, Mass); race day (Saturday, to Wednesday); and the staff of directors and volunteers. But some things don't change at all. Brad Fors (17:06) and Barbara McManus (18:40) won the season's first race at Orchard Hills, just as they did last weekend at Worcester State! The next fastest runners were Charlie Salmond (18:41) and Mike Thornton (19:41). Mike Auger earned top honors in the 40-49 age division; Jim Daley was the speediest veteran. And a hearty welcome-back to Eddie Gallivan, who has returned to competing in the 5K after spending several seasons on the disabled list. |

... Race Director Sarah Fullen is seeking additional volunteers to help at our 5K races. No experience needed! Simply show up before race time, and look for the woman who's always wearing a cheerful smile. |
