Not a bad morning for a 5K road race. Barbara McManus (18:50) led all the CMS finishers this week and finished #2 overall; she was outrun only by Rob Lind from Doherty High. Other noteworthy performers include Lou Amorati, who set a personal best of 19:36 and placed in the top 5.

Mark your calendars! The winter schedule of the 52-Week Series is concluding soon, and the last of our official CMS/Worcester State 5K runs will take place next Saturday morning, April 3 at 9:00am. (The first of the Summer 2004 races at Orchard Hills will be Wednesday, April 7 at 6:00pm.)

... Fellow CMS member Linda Usher has an interesting idea: to continue meeting at Worcester State on Saturday mornings after next weekend for unofficial 5K training races. The runs would be informal and separate from the 52-Week Series, and when there is another race the workouts might be skipped altogether.
