Lots of black ice on the streets this morning. Hardly a good day for a road race -- at least as far as solid footing is concerned -- but some runners tell me they've achieved personal-best times under similar conditions.

The winner of this week's race was CMS' own Mathias Ihlenfeld (18:38), who is probably much faster than the results of this 5K might suggest.

The next quickest finishers were Lou Amorati, Paul Sheerin, and Neil Castronovo. All three gentlemen are CMS members, but in this race they ran for the "Rena's Run" Boston Marathon training team (coached by none other than Mark Perrone).

The ladies prize went to Marta Carlson (25:11), who outpaced her Rena's Run teammate Laura Beckwith by a comfortable margin. Jo Lachapelle picked up the bronze.
