The runners in this week's 5K were confronted with strong & steady headwinds.

But Mark Miller shrugged off the adverse conditions and ran the race in a very fast time of 15:24, beating the rest of the field by a full three minutes.... Mark was using our 5K as a tune-up for next weekend's USATF Fall Cross-Country Meet. (Hmmm, I wonder if everyone who lives near the Bridge of Flowers has legs as strong as Mr. Miller's?)

The first finisher for CMS was Andres Salmeron; and Barbara McManus successfully defended her women's title for the n+1^st week in a row!

Finally it was Peter Wojtas who grabbed the seniors' prize and fourth place overall, edging past Steve Quitadomo with sprint in the home stretch.... This closing sprint of Peter's is well known to many runners who've tried to outkick him at the summertime races of the 52-Week Series, up in Orchard Hills!
