Mike Candito came in 22nd place in a time of 22:22. The chance of such a feat to be accomplished ever again is, without a doubt, slim to none so why not start off this week's post with that rare news. |

With the temps finally starting to dip a little, PR's were not in short supply this week. One of our long-time CMS'ers Jim Daley ran the race in a swift 19:36. This was the fastest 5K in over 2 years for him. Long as he was at it, Jim also grabbed the veterans division to boot and came in the top 10 by placing number 8! Not a bad day at the races for Mr. Daley. |

Another long-time CMS'er, Bob Girouard, snuck in under the 20 minute mark and also did his fastest 5K this year. One of the newer members of the CMS family, Franz Burke, also set a PR for the course in a time of 21:58. Leah Megan of Shirley has been a CMS member for just 7 days and already she set a PR for the course, shaving almost a minute and a half off her previous course best time. Now let us segue into winners for the week. First female this week was CMS'er Darlene Murray from Sterling in a time of 22:00 and, as was the case last week, Darlene was also first female master. 1st female senior was CMS'er Pat Wojtas from Chelmsford in a time of 31:19 and 1st female veteran was none other than CMS'er Marilou Crohan in a time of 41:17. The overall winner of the week was John Kelley from Orange in a time of 17:26. In second place, and first CMS'er to cross the finish line, was Dave Mingori from Webster in a time of 17:47. In fifth place, and also the first senior, was CMS'er Mark Wigler of Hubbardston. Mark glided over the finish line in a time of 18:32. |

With the laws of supply and demand coming into play with our daylight minutes, let's all remember that the races start at 6:15. So if you don't want the evil eye from Gizmo you best cut out of work a few minutes early and head on down to the races. Have a great week, runners, and stay healthy. |
