All summer long Leominster High School (LHS) has been coming to the CMS races and putting in some hard work to get ready for the cross-country season this fall. With this week possibly being their last hoo-rah at the CMS race series for the year, three of them set PR's to put a nice end cap on their races in the CMS/OHAC series and set the stage for a great LHS running year.

Our good friend "Chowder" (a.k.a. Eric Choudhary) was the first LHS'er across the finish line in a time of 19:00. Not only was this a PR for Chowder but he also was the first junior across the finish line! Scott Vautour, second LHS'er to come in, held nothing back in this one and ended up shaving an unbelievable 35 seconds off his PR time running a nifty 19:35! Another LHS'er, Sarah Loiselle, not only set a PR with her 22:35 time, but she also won the female junior category! Way to go LHS! We wish all of you a great running year at Leominster (for Sarah we wish her a great multi-sport year) and we look forward to seeing all of you next summer.

OK, I'm going to let the cat out of the bag.... There were some other runners in this week's race and they weren't from Leominster High School. As a matter of fact, Mike Killam came down from Groton and really lit up the roads with a smoking time of 16:16! That is the second fastest course time this season by any runner!!!

First CMS'er across the finish line was Andy McCarron in a time of 17:49 good for landing him in second place overall. Karen Palmer from Fitchburg was the first female with a time of 20:31. Bob Johnson was first master in a time of 18:47, and Charlie Salmond was first senior in a time of 19:46.

Jan Beckwith from Bolton was the first female master in a time of 22:10, Pat "where were you last week?" Wojtas was first female senior with a time of 32:00, and the ever-resilient Marilou Crohan took the female veteran category in a time of 44:42.
