Beautiful weather for the beginning of Winter in Massachusetts (but then, this is the new Tropical Central Mass). Raffle winners: Jodi Hirschman (Porsche) and Jim Gonyea (Lamborghini).  Note that the prizes were not available for delivery at press time.  

Mario Fraoili (Auburn HS, Stonehill College, and ... gasp...NOT a CMS member!) topped all finishers with a spiffy time.  Carol Hurley topped CMS finishers, and was #1 woman.  Lester Forgit (father of the fast Forgit kids) was top male CMS'er.  

10-year old Brendan Whitson led all junior finishers, placing 11th overall.  However, since Brendan did not finish in the top 10,  he lost his room-cleaning dispensation and had to clean up his room...this instant, young man, or no TV for you!  (oops...some repressed memories bubbling to the surface).

Doug and Linda Usher were the top same-name, opposite gender  team. Our crack investigative team is researching whether there is more than a same-name relationship here.  Hmmm...  

Paul and Ken Lemerise took the top same-name, same-gender team.  Paul, however, claims to come from Geneva.  Hmmm....another suspicious item for our crack investigative team to investigate.  

Auburn ran away with the same town competition.  However, since these were aliens (i.e. not CMS members), they don't count, and have to give back their 2-week trip to Hawaii.  HA!  They will have to shovel snow for the next six months...ahhhhh!

Mike Keating, who performed Race Director duties this week, ran a nifty 22:37 after all the other runners had toured the course.  Mike would have tied for 15th.  However, there was some controversy about this time.  Some observers claimed that Mike missed the finish and ran the course twice, thus shattering the world record for a 10K.  Other observers, however, claimed that Mike only ran to his car and back.  Hmmm....another item for our crack investigative team, which was last seen under Brendan's bed in the clutches of the sock monsters.
