Harken back to yesteryear. Do you remember road racing in the 1970's? You know, when at the finish you were greeted by someone handing out Popsicle sticks with bleeding ink numbers written on them and two other frantic people, one trying to read times and another trying to write 'em all down as each runner crossed the line? Well, this week's edition was similar.

It wasn't exactly deja vu. There were the requisite two folks rapidly reading and writing the times, but this was made a little easier due to the use of a digital rather than analog watch. (Remember those round thingies with two sweep hands - the outer one ticking off seconds and the inner one clicking over the red and white minute marks?) There were no Popsicle sticks, but we did have small slips of paper with the finish place numbers on them. (Come to think of it, some of those earlier races sometimes used index cards with bleeding marker numbers written on them.)
