Today was the annual CMS "Members Only" run: a 5K road race, followed afterwards by a catered buffet-style dinner and a random draw with dozens of prizes -- all for the low low price of $0 (for current members of CMS). Such a deal!
This week's 5K winner was Ken Carabba, who beat Brad Fors by just two seconds to win the race in 17:07. Tim Blouin edged out Charlie Salmond by a similar margin, to take third place overall and first master.
Carol Hurley had an easy time winning the ladies' race in 19:27; Jayna McCarron was the first junior runner by a wide margin, finishing in 21:28.
The elections of CMS officers also took place today. Unfortunately your humble reporter spent "Members Only" day in Seaside Heights, NJ, and doesn't know the outcome of the election.
