A nice-sized crowd showed up this evening, braving record heat to score some very quick times.

Kevin Beck sped through the course at better than 5 minutes per mile, easily winning the race as his trusty sidekick Komen looked on. [Photo caption: "The dog days of Summer are here." Doh!]

Brent Leighton captured 2nd place, and Orchard Hills' own Cedric Smith took 3rd. Cheryl Taylor edged out Karma Tousignant to win the ladies' race. Cheryl has now extended her streak of sub-20:00 5K finishes to ... quite a few.

Race time for the Orchard Hills 5K will move up to 6:30pm starting next week. Please make a note of it!
