This week the weather warmed a bit, and a ragtag crew of high school kids from Manchester, Connecticut made a road trip to Worcester State for our 5K race. Brad Dorau and Laura Maas were the first male and female juniors across the tape, and respectable performances were also turned in by Amanda Kenton, Jessica Creighton, and a mysterious individual who went by the name of "Unidentified Running Object". (CMS' own Charlie Salmond and Barbara McManus won the overall male and female prizes.)
Which reminds me of a lesson my grandfather Gaetano taught me. "Why do people come from miles around to run in the Champion Jogbra CMS 52-Week 5K Series?" Answer: Because it's there.
