CMS 52-Week 5K Series' final kick got off to a good start with its return to Worcester State College. Considering the fact that the Series' last race was held just three days prior, there was a good turnout.
Among the runners, enjoying his retirement from being director of the Series' OHAC segment, was Joe Alfano. Thanks, Joe, for a great season at OHAC. We hope you will return next year.
CMS has good news and bad news about the 52-Week 5K Series. The bad news: if you do not belong to CMS, the entry fee bumps up to $4. The good news: There are some swell random draw prizes at each and every race. All those who run or volunteer are eligible. Each week one prize will be drawn for men and one for women. This week's inaugural offering was a choice of: a manufacture's gift certificate for a women's running set (running shorts, singlet, and bra), a nifty golf umbrella, a pair of men's shoes, or one of two nice fleece tops. Oh, doughnuts, coffee/tea/cocoa/Polar soda and commiseration are still part of the post run fun.
Hello, Worcester. It is nice to be back.
