A late summer day neither sunny nor hot, but stifling in humidity and sweat.

Senior Bob Girouard took first place just one second ahead of master John Loiselle, who bettered his own time over last week by a whopping 52 seconds. Veteran Jim Daley picked up the bronze, in a race whose top five finishers had an average age of... oh, somewhere between 46 and 55.
Jane Albertson doubled as first junior and first female to cross the tape.
The humanitarian prize goes to Orchard Hills' own Tim Richards, who took time out from his homecoming sprint to rescue a baby bird that had fallen from its nest onto the course. Thanks to Tim's intervention and an old friend of mine in the veterinary business, the little fella is now recuperating nicely.
Paul Breault won this week's random draw.
